Transport of Dangerous Goods

Any goods carried by road or rail that pose a risk of traffic accident, such as spillage of the goods which may lead to hazards including fire, explosion, chemical burn or environmental damage, strict regulations for the transportation of any such goods must then be adhered to. This is to ensure the protection of those directly involved and those that might become involved should an incident occur.

Liquid or solid substances and articles containing them are classed as dangerous (hazardous) when carried goods.  These are then classified against internationally-agreed criteria.
